Sympathy card

Rhonda and I were talking today about sympathy cards and how hard they are to make. They aren't cards that we make to keep in our stash yet when one is needed there is not much notice. So we both are on the same wave length....to do a sympathy card, now, not when we need it down the road.
I made mine into an easel card. They are so much in style right now. Every one is making easel cards. They are so much easier than you think and the receiver of the card loves them cuz they prop up so nicely for viewing.
This is a Daisy Doodle image set, the flower and the sentiment, called 'Sympathy'. That should be easy to remember when you want to go purchase it at Scrappetizing or CMW.

I printed the sentiment on GP cs and the flower on acetate. Remember to place the image down, if it's up it will rub off with anything that it touches. I laid a stem and butterfly under the acetate and used two glue dots to adhere it to the CTMH textured paper. All paper is CTMH as is the rick rack.
Rhonda hasn't made her sympathy card yet, so check back on her blog!

There's another challenge over at Daisy Doodles, it's pink plus one. If you head over there you can see my pink plus 1. In case you missed the post of it earlier...like on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

Here's a pic of the card closed It's 5 1/2 inch square card. an easel can be any size that you want. It seems like most of the ones you see are square. However, I made an A2 into an easel Here......and.......HERE. Cheryl made one... for She Stamps. If you scroll down a bit you'll see Cheryl's easel card and super easy directions to make you own.
Signing off...thanks for coming by!

The sentiment is lovely Joanne, I love the easel style card you did too. I think printing the flower on acetate and layering gives it a beautiful look. Wonderful card. I try to keep one or two sympathy cards on hand, so I can mail them right out if the need arises. Hope you don't have a need for this one for a long time!

What a lovely easel sympathy card, and that is so true that we rarely have one ready when it's needed. Thanks so much for joining us for this week's Flutter By Wednesday! :)
