This is card is not part of a blogging challenge. I took it on as a challenge to me. My comfort zone is cute, floral, earthy. Well, I guess this card is definitely earthy!!!! But not my style. It was fun and different and that made it a great challenge.
yes, this one I colored with SU watercolor crayons and blender pen. To prevent smearing, I sprayed digger with a fixative, a clear acrylic sealer by Plaid in a matte finish. Not knowing a thing about diggers is real life it was hard to know what to color and what not to, so I just used artistic license and had fun. Pencils, only needed four, two yellow a gray and a black. I printed the digger on plain copy paper, also, and cut it out leaving an edge all the way around and cutting out the center and used that as a mask. Holding the mask down over the cs image I sponged on three ink colors (see below) then used Itty Bitty backgrounds to get my sand look using CCaramel, River Rock, and Basis Gray. This way I did not have to cut out my image. There were so many corners and such that I knew it would be difficult at best to cut out the entire image. Cutting it out with a border is so much easier. I layered with a smoky gray scrap that was nearby, more mustard, a textured Bazzill yellow (that has the tiny gray stamped dots), and the black card base. is this a manly card for a guy that operates a back hoe, or what? My husband can operate a backhoe like he was born on one! It's amazing to see him work the equipment, he makes it look so easy and then I tried, yea, not so good at my first attempt. There will be no second try for me. I can say been there, done that!! and I wasn't even on one that big!
I have a blog for my cards, but it has become a memory storer! funny how the little things that we do or try become such huge memories when we get older!
Thanks for coming by!
leave a little love
