ONCE AGAIN....

Verve's week two was a little harder for me to get my head around so I made it last!
The same card kit that I used here with a strip of a different scrap.
The white card base has a lined texture that I couldn't capture with the camera.

Verve is having a new year of challenges...no more inspiration!
Just follow the sketches for all you inspiration needs!

Happy New Year to all who grace this blog with your presence!
Thank you for coming by and leaving comments.
It just makes my day to see that someone has left a little love behind to warm my heart.

Thank you

Delightful Inspiration is due Thursday if I want the last image of the month for free!
Yes, I had to chop the legs off with the die as this was a Verve challenge, too!
that die you have seen me use several times. I love it!
i love the Whimsical Cardinals, too!
the two birds came in pairs and singularly and are so perfect for this cold weather that we are having in the Tampa Bay area.
Thanks for coming by!
Keeping it short and keeping it FUN!!!!

Valentine snowman

Delightful Inspiration's newest addition is Valentine Snowman.....
and mittens!
Isn't this snowman cute?
I printed out the mittens across the page, colored and cut to fit the card.
I found a plastic baggie with some card kits in it...so this card took such little time.
The snowflake was already punched, I just had to color and run the VS through the Cuttlebug
and called it almost done!!!
Got out my tiny bottle of paint and covered the VS and the snowflake using a paint brush.
Keeping it simple as there are a few more packages to wrap and company coming in 3 hours!!!!!
Thanks for coming by!
Merry and safe Christmas!

Mini albums

I had taken some pictures of our girls day out at Busch Gardens and decided to use Joan's (Paperlicious)
take on a mini album. We got together last night for dinner and I had two of them for prizes!
This is the smaller one. I wish you could see it IRL - upon completion of the tag I sprayed it with a home made sparkly silver mist. the tag is the top of the belly band that holds the album closed.
The girls just loved both the albums and I am sure to be making more.
I did not go to the store and purchase coin envelopes or tags---I made my own.
Details will be at the end of this LONG post!
Now for the bigger one--just wait more pics as you scroll down!
OK, so the Wild Things are not US -- it's all the animals that we saw that day!!!!

This is Frank one of the chimpanzees. He is fifteen years old!
There was a female in there also, Patsy, she was forty-eight years old!
We saw hippos, ostriches, zebras, water buffalo, alligators, elephants,  kangaroos, wallabies, an albino kangaroo, flamingos, rhinos, chimps, an ice show (skating), and a Cirque de Soliel
like performance that was awesome!
Back to the albums!!!!!!
On the smaller book I used No. 10 envelopes and cut them to 3 1/4 x 4" and sewed the side openings closed. You should get three 'pockets' from each envelope.
This smaller mini measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/2" with 1/4" deep ends.
I did not have any coin envelopes and made my own little pockets. The book covers were also stitched, obviously before I adhered the pockets into them.
For a complete tutorial Joan sent me to a video from Paper Wishes...HERE.
I used some green ric rac that was literally laying around (on my desk).
My tags were made from SU Natural Ivory---2 3/8 x 4 1/2, then stamped with some WMS stamps,
and a reinforced ring to make them look like a real tags!
On the larger book--
I used regular envelopes No. 6 3/4 that measure 6 1/2 x 3 5/8", sealed them and cut the one end off to measure 4 x 3 5/8" and sponged all edges on both sides with Weathered Wood.
This album measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" with 1/4" deep on both ends for room for the envelopes and tags.
Both albums took 11" belly bands to hold them closed.
I made sour cream containers and inserted a ticket into each one. My friends picked their own container and then one of them picked and a winner was born...second album...ditto the first...and two winners!!
They each kept the containers to hang on their trees! I left them simple for two three (or four five good) reasons. One: I never dreamed they'd keep them and why personalize them if the tickets were in there. Two: I simply ran out of time.
My DSK had come over and I grabbed the opportunity to have him help me get some Christmas storage containers down and that led to cleaning out the garage which took time away from the party planning treats!
My friends loved them in the end and that was all that mattered!
I made chocolate covered Oreos for one of our desserts and quite honestly that took longer than I had planned, too!
A big thank you to my friends that support my joyful paper crafting habit  by simply loving the things that I make them.
Thanks for coming by and
I hope that every one is having a very safe and happy holiday!

Christmas Praise

Another Daisy Doodles image, 'Christmas Praise', sharing the Verve limelight!
My card is for week three today, and week two will be up as soon as I get 'er dun!!
This was a simple Verve sketch by Any Sheffer this week here.
Tons of Dazzling Diamonds sparkling back atcha! The roof is covered with Flower Soft, a gift from my cyber sister, Cheryl. I used my SU water color pencils and blender pen for the coloring. That musical paper is one of Jules designs and it's included in the Ebony Christmas papers at the store.
The sentiment and die that it is on is from Verve's Glad Tidings, my newest stamp set!
The holly is from a wreathe in the same collection from Verve, too!

D2D

There's a happy polar bear for you!
Delightful Inspiration's creator Faith created this wonder bear.
I covered him and the snow with Glossy Accents after coloring his scarf and face,
then sponged Bashful Blue on top and Cool Carribean beneath him.
There's a Sizzix snowflake die with the big button, Verve die cut holding the  Verve sentiment,
and a very old tiny snowflake punch was used as a mask to make the white snowflakes above
the winter bear.
The Snowflake paper was printed out using Daisy Doodles newest papers...they come in four colors, and fade out in one corner...very coooool!! (not in the store yet!!)
Tim Holtz's embossing folder was used on the bottom in white cs.

Birthday wishes-365

Happy Birthday to YOU!
Jules' bday is next week, exactly one week from today!
It's rude to ask a lady her age...so don't!
AND I won't either!
I made her a card for her challenge request!
Tim Holtz taught me a new trick.
WAIT FOR IT!

First things first....Happy birthday, Jules!
Have a happy birthday 365 days a year, you deserve it!
Head over to Jules blog and get the details, from her blog make her a card, and win some fabulous digital images from her STORE...$10.00 worth!

OK
the wait is over......
Tim had his annual 12 Tags of Christmas  and one of the techniques he used is...
taking the plastic packaging and run it through with an embossing folder!
I used a Cuttlebug Snowflakes ef for this card!
Jules is freezing her tail off in the brilliant snow, and how better to wish her a HB than
with a happy snowman to brighten her days!
I'll be back with more details, but for now my DH wants to take me to breakfast.
AND there's nothing worse than keeping your man waiting when he is HUNGRY!
Love this spring card fold from SCS.
I'll be back when my tummy is full of .....let's see eggs benedict sounds good this Sunday morning!

An hour later.....
Breakfast was great! I hate half and brought home the rest.
Guess when you get old the tummy just doesn't hold as much!!!!
OK
enough of that...on to the card.
I saw this spring card first at Vickie Yeakley's blog!
She does some beautiful creating!
The directions were on the resource page at SCS under 'spring card'....duh!!!
Very simple fold with a very different look! Try it...You'll like it!!
For Tim's idea take a plastic package...a flat piece and cut it, then
run it through your machine with your ef of choice!
I used brads to secure my embossed plastic, use your
imagination for yours. My plastic was from a Sizzix  Christmas bundle that
had two folders and a die with holly leaves and berries.
Happy creating.
Happy Birthday to Jules, again...365!!!!!!!
thanks for coming by!

Gift tags...AGAIN!!!

Here's a quick and easy way to get nine tags for a one time price of $1.00!
Just click to buy
click to print

CUT
**(see note below before attempting your printing)
Nine not enough? Just that same old dollar for all your tag needs.
All nine printed out on a full sheet of cs, but only took up 5" x 7 1/4''!
I just hit color, thick paper, and

PRINT
No adjustments were made in printing out these tags!
Each tag is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2'' and perfect for the last minute gifts on your list!
You can run them through your Xyron or just use double stick tape!
either way you have the quickest easiest tags ever!
Do not color, do not alter...
Just add your names!!!!!
They print out beautifully! My only complaint is the word 'Xmas'.
I just don't prefer to leave Christ out of the season.
I think that I will punch out a blue star and cover the 'shortage'!
Or put it on one of the kids packages then it won't be noticed!!
OR place the blue/silver bow right over the xmas with a big glue dot!!
My tags were printed out on the same sheet with another image at the top,
remember...save paper when you can!!!
All tags are sold as a set at Daisy Doodles Store under the Christmas label and are called Printable gift tags. The link should take you right to the tags!
Gotta go put some 'signage' on my new tags...then make a few more sets for some friends of mine!!!
Thanks for coming by!
Hope your shopping is done and your gifts are ready for their tags!!!!

** I almost forgot to mention...I did have to reduce the size of the image before I printed. when I checked the size, as I always do it was huge like 2800 by 1943 pixels. In Paint I always reduce to 600 pixels, so I must correct myself and say that I did make an adjustment before I clicked on print.

Jules', of Daisy Doodles, big birthday is December 19th

Gift tags

Nothing like a home made gift tag to say Merry Christmas!
Delightful Inspirations image this week, the poinsettia, is perfect for a few gift tags.
I used Word to position the images and add the text boxes.
No two are the exact same, which made the actual tags minutely different is size, too!
Here's a shot before I cut them out and added the glitter pen to them.
You can see here how different they are in size. I need to work on that a bit!!!! MAYBE!!!!
Thanks for coming by!
I'll be making more tags for the gifts that need to be wrapped!
then make a few for a really good friend of mine that loves every thing that I create!!!
No names, she knows who she is!!!!

Verve, Toffee, Triple Play

What could Verve, toffee, and Triple Play have in common?
Grab a cup of tea or coffee and something for your sweet tooth.
You are going to need it!!!!
VERVE PROJECT PARADE
Verve is having a project parade for the winter release 2010.
The DT have all designed triple plays. You should see some of their creations!
I decided to have a play after finally coming up with a plan.
It all started with me not having a plan and reading and drooling over Mercy's creation and the fact that she said she had a hard time, too, coming up with something for the Triple Play.
About 7 minutes later it hit me...Make something simple for a treat to be held...then it hit me, again....make something to display my SIL's toffee candy. I called Bec and she gave me permission to use her candy...YUMMMMM....and the idea was born. 11 1/2 x 4 1/4 cardstock in Kraft and Wild Wasabi.
Die cut the fronts to view the candy using my brand new Verve die cuts and Glad Tidings stamp set.
Here they are...all three of them so I can enter the Triple Play.
I took a 'slew' of pics at my SIL's home after placing her candy in the clear candy envelopes.
Here's a pic of her huge slab of toffee before she breaks it into bite size pieces.
That slab of candy measures about 30" x 24". The tin box in front is MY pound!
Becky makes the best toffee in the whole wide world!
Here are some individual shots of the candy favors!
This is kraft paper from SU and the Craft White ink is also clear embossed on the snowflakes and the sentiment. the bird and leaves are from the SU punch. The tag and die cut window is from VERVE'S new die, the scalloped tag, that was first stamped with Glad Tidings.
The Purely Pomegranate tag at the top is the other VERVE die, Vintage Oval frame.
This candy holder is made from Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate with the window die cut twice with the scalloped tag. the snowflakes are once again stamped and embossed just like the first one.
Had to dye the elastic band with the jingle bells in Purely Pomegranate about three separate times to get it the color I wanted and then it could have been a bit darker! Silver circles are in the center of the snowflakes.
While the above was not the best pic it certainly showed the kraft paper much better.
Becky had lots of lights in her kitchen and this one was taken with the lights off in the dining room.
The center cut was done using the Vintage frame twice to get a bigger opening to show off
that luscious candy. Glass beads were glued in the center of the snowflakes, two different sizes...big and tiny!!
I stamped the Wild Wasabi onto glossy paper from Club Scrap and cut them out, connected then with jump rings and the one on top got an extra cut out from the PP on the glossy paper. The sentiment
is from Glad tidings and once again I used the Verve die cut for that on glossy paper!!!

A close up or two......
Better run, there are only two days remaining for this challenge.
Thanks for coming by!
AND WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!

Red Hues

This one is Week Four  of Verv'e Viva la Verve challenge at SCS.
Added a bit of green...the inspiration was colors of ribbon, crinkly ribbon!

It's been days

It has been days since I have been here.
So much going on and nothing worth talking about right now!
I made a few cards last week and saved this for an opportune time...
which is now!
This is an image from Daisy Doodles. It comes in a set, a window with a plain cross, one with the word peace in the cross, and a cross all by itself.
I love stained glass and when I saw this set I knew I would be making a card with it...make that three!
You can find this set at the Daisy Doodles Store. It's called 'Peace" and it's under sympathy.
Thanks for coming by!

The Sketch

I have a few minutes to spare to get this card as an entry at The Pixie Cottage.
I showed you the sketch on an earlier post and now here is the card that I promised.

I would like you to meet Rebecca, she is one of this Fall's creations by Daisy Doodles, Jules!
She can be bought!!!!!
Check out the Daisy Doodles store and see all the fabulous images
there are to choose from there.
Gotta keep this short the clock is ticking! This card has been on my mind for the last two days and it was at 9:20pm tonight that I realized it wasn't going to get done unless I got into gear!
The DSP is from a big stack of paper from SU that has been retired and the rest are scraps with the exception of the Kraft card base. Punched out some MS flowers and added some liquid pearls!
Thought the trees would be good background since the pilgrims ate outside amongst the trees!!!
Thank you, Pixie Cottage for the fab sketch and Jules for the image you have created.
Pixie Cottage is sponsoring the Daisy Doodles challenge, Anything Goes, this week.
You must use a Daisy Doodles image or an image chosen from Pixie Cottage to be eligible to win the prize.
