Yes, crafters and followers it’s that time of the month again. Time for the WALTZ…the Waltzingmouse Stamps Waltz always scheduled on the 17th of each  month.  The theme this month is masculine cards. To see all the fabulous entries go to the FORUM and sign up it only takes a minute and is so well worth the time. The WMS DT is fab and it’s always a delight to see their creations. Here’s my masculine card using Teeny Trees.
WMS May Waltz 2011-jdgilch
This card measures 4 1/4 inches square with the top and bottom overhanging the card base. I hand made the ‘wood’ panel and tree using the faux wood technique at
Splitcoast. I used white paper Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Early Espresso. SInce I used white cs I didn’t need to use the Craft white over the brown inks. I had originally made two pieces of ‘wood’ 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and used both for two different cards.  The other one is HERE.  Those little ‘foot’ like appendages on the end of the twine are leaves cut from  ribbon I bought from  IheartPapers’.
Ribbon of leaves
The green, blue, and yellow leaves stamped on the Spellbinders circle used the baby wipe technique and that name escapes me at the moment. I used my reinkers and placed a drop or two of three different colors onto a baby wipe and used that as the stamp pad to get the variegated effect. I learned this technique at a Stampin’ Up party many years ago. You can find it, too, at Splitcoast…go to resources and type in Baby Wipe, and guess what? That’s the name of the technique at SCS!!…Baby Wipe………..
I used the Early Espresso to stamp the sentiment onto the twill ribbon and Garden Green to stamp the wee leaves. Took a green marker to make the leafs’ stems.
I dug out the ‘ole’ decorative scissors for this card and used the postage stamp scissors for the edges on the right opening. This card was fun, full of techniques, and a woody manly card entry for the WALTZ.
Thanks for coming by!

Joanne, this is so cool. You've got so much going from faux wood, to baby wipe, to stamped twill, but it all blends effortlessly into this masculine masterpiece. This card is FANTASTIC! Love everything about it.
