Birthday Wishes for Jeanne

I made this card for my friend's birthday and the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge.
The sketch:
The card:
When i went to get the paper from the die, it wasn't cut all the way through just where the 'spare parts'
get released. I couldn't use the die cut so i thought about using the frame of it. I ran the Soft Suede through the CB once more with the Fancy Tag die from Spellbinders so that i could have the negative parts
to use with the 'frame'.

Lily and I took a trip to our LSS...she loves going there...I am not sure she loves it for the wide open spaces to enjoy or feeling all the lovely textures and sparkly papers.
We found a pkg of pink pearls at 50% off. She noticed right away that one was missing, but the pkg was in her hand with the OK to spend the $1.00 and there were no complaints.
Well every great crafter needs paper to go with the bling so she picked out this paper after I nixed the $2.75
sparkly non square sheet. She must have spied this paper with the tulips on her rounds of the store, because she went right to it after the very short let down of the first choice.
I have tried to instill in her the values of a budget. When is usually told before we leave the house what her budget is and I hold to it. It is so easy to give in to the kids, big or small if no boundaries are set from the get go. Well, we went to the bank and upon leaving I decided to hit the LSS and she was all over that idea.
She created a card/book...they are all books now, not cards, so let's set that straight.
"Books , Mimi, not cards."
Unfortunately she took it home and I forgot to take a pic!!!
AND I do not remember the name or maker of the paper, but it has butterflies on the reverse side.

I am going to take her to that LSS and let her pick out some more paper.
These tulips look like they are popping up and I love those shades
of pink and green together.

Do you remember the story of Lily and her glue stick?

Those flowers are some really old primas folded in half...twice and held together with home made glue dots.
I added greenery to the base of the flowers and the one, to follow the sketch, is holding a ribbon of brown leaves to accommodate the challenge at WMSC.
Thanks for coming by!

Love how you created the background with those die cut tulips, and the sentiment you made for your frame is spectacular!

Joanne, this is so pretty. Great idea to use the negative space from the die cut, never would have thought of that. Lily has impeccable taste, lol!
