Singing in the rain

Freddy is not Freddy today!
What's a good name for a female Freddy?
I can't possibly call a teddy in a pink slicker and boots...Freddy!
My dad' term of endearment for my Mom was PINKIE!
Let's call this bear ...PINKIE!
Mom was light on her feet and she could dance and spin a cart wheel or two!
O!!! The memories!
This one's for YOU, MOM!!!!
Pinkie is Rainy Day Freddy over in the Daisy Doodles Store!
Just look in the Freddy series. There are several cute Freddy's doing different things!
Over at SCS HYCCT20 is seeing Freddy as 'Pinkie' in the Hope with a twist challenge.
Chupa challenged us to make a card using dance or cheerleading as a theme.
This is very appropriate for today as a Halloween costume for Freddy!
Thanks for coming by!

Did you see the tutorial that I posted under tutorial Hearts?
I created a very unusual paper flower. Hope you like it as much as I do!!

I Can Count....

I CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON YOU
HYCCT21 is all about hand made.
I saw this dragonfly here at Stamping Vacation last month.
It is so easy and simple...17 inches of wire and 13 beads...that's it.
This is my fourth post today...getting closer to the catching up point.
If I do not count today's challenge then I am only four behind right now!
Whoo Hooooo!
Me thinks I am gonna make it...and get all 31 cards done in record time.
Thanks for coming by!

When I Grow Up

This stamp set is actually my DDL's. All of her stamps live at my house...til she needs them.
This set is dated 2005...so it's been hanging around here for quite some time!
This is the very first time that I used it.
I have been trying to get out the sets that have seen very little light of day.
When Cindy aka Mothermark challenged up to use PINK and inspiration from the cancer patients at
MD Anderson...this set came to mind.
Here's a link to Cindy's HYCCT19- PINK INSPIRATION.
There were four inspirational ideas from which to choose.

That necklace is Liquid Silver pearls and the flowers centers are pearls clipped from a strand that has been in the Bottom of the Drawer for ages. The ribbon is a 'new twist' that I came up with with pearls in the folds.
Thanks for coming by!

Good Friends

This HYCCT16 challenge was one we had to come up with an idea using felt
and wait til you hear!
The name of the challenge 'Felt the Ta Ta's'!
As in it's very important for early detection of breast cancer.
I thought Bev was extremely clever coming up with that one!
Would you like to see the gallery pics at SCS on this challenge?
CLICK HERE, for all the felt you can see, but not touch...LOL!
I stamped the awning directly, as well as the rest of the stamping, with Real Red.
Used the sewing machine to adhere the bottom piece of felt.
Thanks for coming by!
Haven't you been loving the short posts?
So much to do, so little time!!!
Thinking about posting a pic of the newest addition to our family!

Ribbon

The challenge for the HYCCT14 is Ribbon.
had to use my new MS border punch that was ridiculously on SALE on Wednesday!
This stamp set is from a Dss Big Sister, Veronica, from Round ONE.
It's called "Studio Style" and it's all about crafters and made by PTI.

Confident

Hope You Can Cling To 24 is All About The Girls
I rec'd this stamp set from a blog candy that I won recently.
Can't remember who to give her some of the credit!
Just scrolled through my blog and couldn't find that post.
Made this card with out the black frames, when I got the black ribbon out....whooosh...add more black.
I like it so much better...how 'bout you?
thanks for coming by!

Just for You

I put this card onto the sewing machine more than once.
It just needed a lot of stitching...IMHO! I even sewed the ribbon ends down to the cs.
I think it's a great color combination thanks to Tanis over at  SCS and the HYCCT challenges/contest.
The image you may have seen before HERE and HERE.
It's Just for You by Daisy Doodles.
Thanks for coming by!
I have entered this card in the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge--'Anything Goes' this week.

A Purple Christmas Tag

Here's another go at the Waltzingmouse Tag- You're it contest!
I think purple and gold together is a fabulous combination...so regal!
Waltzingmouse and Spellbinders with some gold embossing...how could you go wrong?
Thanks for coming by!

On the line

Oh my gosh! I loved this stamp set from the get go!
OK, so don't be checking out and comparing the size of her under garments to his!!!!
Didn't realize the error of my ways til it was just too late.
How many ppl will look at this card and say....."She must be a big momma?'
I hope ...none!!!!!
For this HYCCT05 at SCS challenge Maren titled her's 'Twine Time' and asked us card makers to use twine in a way other than using it on a button. My initial thought was to use this stamp set from Lindsay's Stampin Stuff and use the twine as a clothes line.
Thanks for coming by!
More hope on the way. I am officially half way done with the thirty one cards!
Six days to go and 15 more cards.
Whaddya think!!!

Love is Precious

Welcome to my world of Hope!
For my third post today, I made a flower using a border punch on a strip of paper.
It's rather square looking..the petals that is!
HYCCT11 by Edna was looking for a new homemade flower, so I made it my focal point.
Just had to stamp something so I stamped over the chipboard scalloped circle after I covered it in the reverse side of the patterned paper you see here.
Thought the ribbon stem and leaf would add a different feel.
And here's a pic from above the card so you can see the ribbon around the base of the flower.
Edna called this challenge happy flowers and this card definitely made me HAPPY!
Secret to making happy flowers...after you have punched/cut your paper...mist it on both sides.
That will make the paper more pliable. Be sure to get the petals the way you like them while the paper is still damp cuz when it dries it's dry! KWIM?
Thanks for coming by!

Just adding a tutorial now......click here and it will take you to my tutorial page!

Vintage...not sure of this!
You be the judge.
This is the HYCCT18 - Vintage....maybe!!!!!
Some of the cards over there at SCS are stunningly vintage and beautiful!
Thanks for coming by!
RX: After I colored the wheelbarrow, from Daisy Doodles. I sponged on some Antique Linen and stamped over it with Filigree bg stamp with Old Paper distressed ink.
that vanilla seam binding got sprayed with Log Cabin Smooch spritzer, then made a bow and flower.
The Spellbinders Label 14 you see here is the smallest for the sentiment and #4 for the image.
Nothing says vintage to me like some sewing. Can you see the stitching?
made my own brads using the True Thyme paper and 1/4" hole punch. the sentiment is from SU's,
Curvy Verses.

A Christmas Tag

There's a big contest over at WMS!

Bonfire Night

Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge
This challenge is all about Bonfire Night.
It's an English Holiday and Rhonda researched it and you can find out all about it on her blog.
Miss Daisy created a digital set to depict this holiday.
Here i am using three of them.
The set is called Flash Bang and can be found in the Daisy Doodles Store.
It's a four stamp set for $3. the large bonfire comes with another image next to it, but I cropped it off!
I created the sentiment on the computer and it just happened to fit that punch perfect.
for my background I used Coredinations paper and Distressed Stripes EF from Cuttlebug.
Sanded/distressed some of the brown off to show that red.
Took Black Soot and distressed around all the squares, a very thin line!!
Sponged the sparklers with Yo Yo Yellow so there wasn't too much white.
Happened to have some brown twill tape and pulled a piece of eyelash yarn through the knot with a crochet hook. A very small crochet hook.
This card will also be entered into the HYCCT17 challenge that requests "Pop It Up".
The bonfire and the top left sparkler as well as the senti are popped up with dimensionals.
This card was quick and easy and I cased a card from Mothermark on SCS HYCCT.
She used squares on her card that were scattered, not in any particular design,
and I just thought that was so clever.
Thanks for coming by!
HOPE you're loving the HYCCT challenges!!!

Picnic Parade

Picnic parade is the name of the SU set I used for this card today!
We were asked to think about our walks...in the park, grocery store, what ever inspired us and to use those colors and things that we see.
My walks are at Lake Seminole Park where there is a wonderful trail to walk and see some wonderful creatures of God! I see squirrels, raccoons (not very often), rabbits, spiders, birds, bugs, lizards, flowers, and certain times of the year I see turtles, the big ones that dig big holes and lay their eggs and then disappear til next year. I have seen osprey and their nest! One day Micki and I saw an osprey carrying a squirrel in it's claws. Oh, we could hear that squirrel scream and holler for mercy to it's captor! the park and it's trail is an awesome place to go and commune with Mother Nature and all of her animals.
I have also included this card in the Verve Week Four challenge.
Thanks for coming by!
Here's to HOPE.
I made that button! Punched out three circles with 1" punch and glued them together.
then I punched out two 3/4" circles and keeping the holes in my hand I punched out around those two holes using the 1" punch, leaving me with 2 rings that I glued down over the 1" circles. I used the Cropadile to punch those four holes and tied some DMC, then put some Glossy Accents on top of the button to make it all shiny and "plastic' looking.
I also, used the DSP from CTMH from the previous card, "It's Your Day"!

Birthdays are a piece of Cake!

Verve's week Two is asking for a sketch and the colors
BROWN<> ORANGE<> TURQUOISE, and WHITE.
I chose the stamp set 'Feel The Sun' for the flower and 'Party Time' for the sentiment.
That brown with dots (reverse side is green with white dots) is from CTMH
and the other papers are all SU.
I popped up the center panel and paper pieced the flower and leaves directly onto
the turquoise spellbinders die.
The corner pieces are stamped smaller flowers and punched out with a 1 1/4" square punch, then cut out and secured with brads.
The HYCCT12 Challenge called for paper piecing.
Thanks for coming by!
HOPE you are enjoying your Sunday!

Three challenges

The challenges for Hope You Can Cling to are not allowed to be combined, but I can combine them with other challenges like CTMH and Verve.
The papers and sentiment are all CTMH. The ribbon and buttons are rogue or as I call it BOTD.
.....Bottom Of The Drawer.....
The Verve challenge week 3 was to CASE a card from Jackie's gallery.
CTMH  "Heart 2 Heart" wanted to see some sort of embossing and mostly their own products.
I Cuttlebugged the Floral Screen folder just down the middle of my cs, then applied a little brown ink.
My sewing machine stitching followed the embossing folder's line...different!
HYCCT22 by Amber Joy had a recipe request 3-2-1.
Three DSP's, 2 embellishments, and one ribbon.
I really like this card. Simple and very different!
thanks for coming by!
No RX since I have already given out most of the info!!

HOPE

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is the reason for this season!
the season is this challenge that I got involved in with Splitcoast Stampers.
all cards that are being made for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge will be mailed to MD Anderson.
the cancer patients will receive them for themselves and have some to give to their loved ones.
I used images, again, from Daisy Doodles.
The flowers are together in a set called 'Flower pack'.
The butterfly is in a set with a dragonfly and named after the two insects.
HOPE is a rogue stamp that I have had for a very long time!
Thank you for coming by!
HOPE, there's going to be more HOPE!
This is the HYCCT09 "Let's Dabble in Scrabble"over at SCS.

WISHES

But not always at MD Anderson at the UT.
"If wishes could make you well....you'd be better already!"
is the sentiment on this card. Daisy Doodles 'Apple Basket' is the image of the day!
It can be found at the store under the category 'Autumn/Fall'.
The red in set on the green Labels Ten and both are popped up above the image.
Here's a pic of the inside:
I am getting through the list of challenges...slowly but surely, but don't put your money on me yet!!!
Thirty one cards in less than 15 days is a task!

This card took longer than I had planned and didn't quite hit my quota for today!
I have completed nine of twenty cards as of today!
A few of them have to wait for certain dates for other challenges!
I paper pieced the armoire with a polka dot scrap and then again paper pieced over that.. the doors.
Cut out the 'support' and popped it up on the door knob and popped up the armoire, too!
Back to the drawing board....a paper pieced birthday card is coming up next...unless, of course,
I change my mind.

Happy What?

Yes, I know that St Patrick's Day is five months away.
The HYCCT02A challenge was to make a PINK holiday card.
One suggestion was St Patty's Day and I ran with it since I have some wonderful
Waltzingmouse stamp sets that have shamrocks.
Just had to add a touch of green and kept the card extremely simple
since I have so much to catch up on today!
Yes, sirreee that is Hunter Green not black!
Thanks for stopping by!
HOPE you're still following my SCS challenges.

Old and New

Splitcoast Stampers and Hoe you Can Cling To Challenge....AGAIN?
Yeppers, there should be one for every day and I got started late, so just keep
watching...I only have four completed and then how many more to go?
I used a Daisy Doodles image...'Acorns'.
the new....it's a brand new image for me.
The Old.....that polka dot piece and red panel were scraps.
the certainly Celery, I have had for about four years and I distressed the
panels to make them looked aged.
Thinking this might pass for a guys card!
Guys like cards, too, don't they?
Thanks for coming by!
HOPE you are enjoying the SCS challenges!
Have you tried a few yourself?

Hope and Beauty

The Delightful Inspiration free image this week is Hope and Beauty.
The Double Delight challenge is all about  PINK
Think Pink
I made one of the wee note cards pink and the rest...well you can see for yourself the colors.
The flowers match the colored paper on each one. And then I got out the lil Janome and sewed different patterns on each note card.
This note set is also being entered into the HYCCT03 at SCS by Joan B aka Paperlicious.
Joan has challenged us to NO SENTIMENT in her challenge title
"UNSENTIMENTAL"
Thanks for coming by!
Hope you can cling to is a great cause and I am sure every single patient at MD Anderson is going to love
every card that comes their way, whether it's for them to enjoy or pass along to a loved one.

The Road Leads You

Daisy Doodles Meets SCS!
I needed a card for the free week at DDCC blog and I am earnestly working on the
HYCCT challenges on SCS.
this is a brand spanking new image that Jules created and released just days ago.
Hope You Can Cling To 'Fab Flower Power' asked for at least one home made flower.
Here you see some scraps of a bluish green and Orchid Opulence.
As I went to grab the last piece of O Opulence the folder was empty so I had to use white for my card base....oh well!!!! I love that Doodle Bug set. It has three cars, one plain to decorate or color as you wish, this one for the girls and one for the boys, plus two sentiments.
Here's a link to the store and there is always the link on the right side bar, too.
I put stickles on the headlight and then started doing something else and before it was dry....bang...I had my sticky fingers covered with glitter. thought i had it all off, but the camera and my photo light caught a piece of glitter right there on the bumper...I like it there and I'm keeping the goof!!!!
thanks for coming by!
Hope you are liking the HYCCT08!!!

October Waltz

AUTUMN HARVEST
If it's waltz time it must be the 17th.
I used the Teeny Trees stamp set since it seemed so appropriate for the Harvest theme.
When I think of harvest and the fall I think of apples.
AND the apples are falling all over the ground!
Someday I would love to travel North and pick my own apples.
It just sounds so homey and delicious.
John and I planted an apple tree in the yard, the animals ate them before we could enjoy them.
Florida really isn't the place to grow apples at least not here in the Tampa Bay area.!
Clean and simple was my goal for this waltz. Lots of dimensionals to pop up the elements and then a wee bit of Glossy Accents to shine those apples.
Thanks for WALTZING by!

I borrowed this sketch from Waltzingmouse Challenge sketch.
I used the pink and True Thyme papers for the colors from the
Cancer Ribbon Awareness chart from here that Sara gave us.

Triple D delight

Delightful Inspiration, Double Delight challenges, and D2D make for a triple treat every week for me.
Faith not only created the free image, but also an entire set to match called 'Willow Whimsy'.. Go see it!
Double Delight challenged us to a blue and green theme this week.

I was after CAS because i did not want to cover up my home made background paper.
I used an embossed resist technique on the main image. After I used sticky notes along the outside I applied the Versamark directly to the D2D image. Covered with clear embossing powder, heated, then cut out using a spellbinders label Two. Matted with black for contrast.
the bg is the same image using Word with some blue and green sponging all around.
this was loads of fun trying out a new idea and an old technique.

Delightful Inspirations

It's that time of week again...D2D and Double Delight.
It's so appropriately named, "Two Apples".
I did a reverse mask technique here to avoid some unhappy coloring!
I traced the apples onto a plain piece of copy paper and cut out the apples separately.
Then used two stamps from one set and inked the apples, again, separately. I sponged on the Hunter Green for the leaves using the reverse masking technique, also.
For my border punch I used an old corner punch, removing the guard, then punching!
Double Delight used the term 'with a twist' and I did just that with the satin ribbon before tying the bow.
