Simple is as simple does

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I made my Memorial Day card for the OWH blog hop here. I added a very short tutorial on spiral pop ups for inside your cards. I also, saluted our fallen soldiers and their families, you can follow that on the same link.
                                      >>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Headed on over to Simplicity's one layer Wednesday and the challenge was for overlapping. Overlapping an image and sentiment. I went a little further and did a masking technique to qualify for a challenge over at For Fun Challenges.
What do they say about two birds and one stone?
I ink up my leaves in Always Artichoke and then swipe the stamp across the ink pad leaving striations. The stamps are clear so it makes it easy to see which way the striations should 'flow'. I use second generation stamp off and place the mask over the double stamped flower. A darker ink for the sentiment, 'Let Love and Friendship reign forever'.

Thanks for coming by!

STAMPS: WMS Irish Blessings and Big Blossoms - Chrysanthemums
PAPER: Apricot Appeal
INK: Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Always Artichoke, and Eggplant
TOOLS: only my hands and an acrylic block

Wonderfully creative use of stamping techniques to jazz up a one-layer card! The striations idea is brilliant, and double stamping the flower is sooooo effective!
