Easter with the Mouse

WMS-Waltz-logo-final-w-text-smll
This first started as a difficult challenge as I have no Easter stamps from WMS. Not a bunny, or egg, or sentiment pertaining to Easter. I own about 8-10 stamp sets and not one says Easter to me. Got out all the sets and stared at them all. Reverted, once again, to the two original sets that I first purchased Celtic Heritage and Irish Blessings…
AND THEN IT HIT ME!!!!!!
Nothing says Easter more than Christ…he died on the cross for us.
The basket to portray the cross was another matter. I checked out all the lovely baskets that Claire has for free in her digital category. They would require some cutting, whereas the basket I chose took only four swipes through the Cuttlebug with the Scalloped envelope die. Took the easy road and here tis:

I was going to boil two eggs and DH said he would eat egg salad so ten went into the pot and I am so glad that I had ten for practice. I had three colors of dye yellow, green and purple…and no this was not planned in advance. God works in mysterious ways! For the details on the eggs see below.
The cross is from Celtic Heritage and the sentiment is words that were chosen from Irish Blessings. I had to get the Stampa-ma-jig out for the appropriate placement. I could not eyeball the  proper alignment…trust me, I tried it!  The cracked egg is from my breakfast on Saturday morning, something said to wash it and keep it! TMI!!!!
In order to keep the waltz moving I will have details below for those that may be interested.
Thanks for waltzing by today!

Eggs wms 2011 jdg

the eggs----(1)Stamped the More Mustard onto tissue paper, then crumbled it up, covered egg with glue stick and placed the crumbled tissue on the egg working and cutting with scissors to get just the right amount of paper. The egg was dyed purple and then I sponged some Shimmer Mist around the cross. (2)Stamped Stazon Purple onto shrink wrap and then got the heat gun to it and let it shrink right onto the already multi-colored egg. (3) Stamped Stazon green onto tissue paper, cut it out and sprayed adhesive onto the egg, then shrink wrapped it.

The greenish blue egg at the top---Cut out the Stazon Purple stamped cross and lightly glued with glue stick and then shrink wrapped it. The rest were just played with in the color baths and it brought back memories of coloring eggs when the four kids were young.
Few more pics of the basket as I took some back and side shots. This top shot…only one egg(#3) would fit into the basket.

Here’s a great shot of the front where you can see the shimmery gold vellum behind the cross. the Beaded circle were punched from AAmethyst and topped with the flecked vellum—you can barely notice it in the photos, but I also punched out 1/8” circles from each ‘bead’.  Wove gold cord through the beads. I used the tiniest beaded circle to make the center of the flower. You can see on another shot that it’s slit and cupped for more depth.

I love that you directly stamped on the egg. Tried this before and it became rather a mess - so well done for you!
