Gone Fishing

Here's my CTMH card for this week. The only thing not CTMH is the panel on the right. None of the colors that I had went with the DP on the left. I used the Hook, Line, and Sinker stamp set, exclusively. I love that about CTMH the entire set is great for one card, and I used all the elements on the panel and the inside.
My gate fold card is held shut with a non CTMH latch and brad.

My posts have been so long for the hop, I decided to cut this one short. Enjoy!
Thanks for coming by!

Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge Blog Hop

Ribbitt says HI! and welcome to day three of Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge Blog Hop to
celebrate
the opening of Miss Daisy's new store!
You have arrived! This is the second stop on the Daisy Doodles challenge Blog Hop. If it's the hop you want better head on over to the DDCC blog where the hop is starting. If you came from Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge blog, well, then you are right where you are supposed to be. Did you remember to leave a comment on DDCC?

Have a seat, get comfortable!

There's a lot going on and this post is lengthy so grab a cup of tea, coffee, or your favorite beverage.

I have a hatbox. It was given to me by a friend not too long ago. It was papered and decorated so lovely. I keep some of my favorite cards in it. O! It has become my card box, since my hats don't need a box! Here is my pop up hatbox card. I added my own stripes on the digi to match the paper.

The inside is a pop up where I used the masking technique. I used the same digital for the main image and a
rubber stamp set for the flowers. I took the easy way to make the pop up since my card was essentially done on the outside. To pop-up any image take a strip of matching cs (about 1/2" - 3/4" wide by 4 inches long) and score three times at one inch intervals, fold and glue one part to base of card and one to the inside front cover. It should look like a square that is encroaching into the base of your card and that's where you adhere your image. If you are interested in the easy pop up directions, scroll down to the end of this post.

The new store opens June 3rd, Daisy's Digi Doodles store. Sign up for the newsletter and you'll receive a free image and your name will go in for the draw to win another great prize! For more info check into the store on June 3rd. You may also receive 21% off in the store as DD is celebrating 21 years with her DH on June 3rd.
There's a word search going on over at SNR. Head on over there and see what Daisy Doodles has for free images. Then there is a Challenge of sorts with a prize here on SNR.
Oh, and don't forget that there is a secret blog in the hop that is giving away a Summer Fun set if you leave a comment on each and every blog along the way. There are only nine posts to visit and you really don't want to miss out on a free digital image set...do you? There are ten images in the new release and you could be one of the first crafters to own it for free! That would give you images to play with and get extra points in the biweekly challenges over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge Blog.

Thanks for hopping along with us today!
Lawren is the next stop on the hop and she is so creative, I can hardly wait to see what she did for today's hop. Don't forget to comment on every DT and guest designer's blog and Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge Blog to qualify for the free Summer Fun digital image set.

Now for some pics of the strip and inside of the pop up card to give you an idea on how to put it together.
The strip here is 4 " by 1" with score lines at the dotted lines, one inch intervals. Fold and burnish with your bone folder so it shapes up like a box.
Glue/adhere the two sides that connect to the inside of your card. I let the opening of my box be at the right angle of my card when it is open.
This strip above in my card wasn't quite long enough but I used it anyway. Had it been four inches long the opening would have come right to the inside front of the card. Then all you have to do is glue your pop up to the front of the strip.
For those of you that came for the pop up instructions I have included another link to the next stop on the hop, Lawren.

And remember any time the links don't work or you get lost just click here on DDCC and it will take you to the beginning where you will find the list for Day 3.
Thanks for staying, relaxing, and just hopping along with us.
Good luck, hope you all win!

Hinged

I wish you could see these butterflies. The ones on the image panel. I folded up one part of the bottom R wing and glued it. They appear to be standing up on the card! The image is from D2D. I just can't believe that I am still participating in this progressive challenge. How long has it been? Don't know but will go check and find the answer. It seems it was in February, but can't find the actual date. Will keep looking.
The hinge is difficult to see in detail. Oh BTB, I made up my own sketch for this one. No help! Picked the paper, the Dp was a scrap the size you see here. Knew that I needed a 5 1/4" square card to hold the 4 plus inch Nestie scallop circle. I like the offset of the DP to the top left and the image to the bottom right and just made the rest up as I went.
Thanks for coming by!
February third was the date on the post for my first D2D challenge.
As soon as I saw the owls, I knew. They were my first! My first digi for Faith!

Day 2 of the Daisy Doodles Blog Hop

Day 2 of the Daisy Doodles Challenge Blog Hop. You should be arriving from Daisy Doodles challenge blog, the start of the hop. This is only the first stop after the DDCC so you really should go back there and see what you missed.

There is an event going on over at SNR the three days of the hop and you can see a couple of the Summer
Fun images the Design Team used to make cards. There is a word search over there from Jules, Miss Daisy and an offering of a prize digi from a not yet released set. Go see for yourself.
The new store opens June 3rd, Daisy's Digi Doodles store. Sign up for the newsletter at the new store before June 10th and you'll receive a free image and your name will go in for another draw. You may also receive 21% off in the store as DD is celebrating 21 years with her DH on June 3rd.
I would like you to meet Spring Mouse. No, he's not part of the new release. I used the out of the box technique with the Spellbinders oval Nestie. Splitcoast Stampers has a tutorial and video for this technique.
But he sure is cute with his little head popping out of that watering can! After I colored the wee mouse, flowers and design on the can I masked the outside of the can and sponged on Soft Sky and darkened a few areas with a colored pencil to add some dimension. I used my glitter pen for the inside of all the flowers and over the scroll work on the can.
Be sure to leave a comment on each one of the blogs each day of the hop. There will  be a drawing and the winner will receive the new summer release set, Summer Fun.Next stop is Jane on the Daisy Doodle Creative Challenge Blog.
Thanks for coming by!

Meanwhile digi fans, Jules is celebrating her 21st wedding anniversary on June 3rd, the day the new store opens. In appreciation for all her followers she is having a sale 1% off for every year of her marriage. Don't get out your calculators yet!!! That's an amazing 21 % off every thing in the store.

Keep your PayPal info close by- it's only a one day sale!
See you at the store June 3rd and at the hop June 1-3.

ED NOTE: Yes, yesterday the ad did say 22%, 22 years of marriage, then someone did the math and she realized that she's only been married for 21 years. Must be a marriage made in heaven that she only felt like it was one year longer!!!
