Bear's Big gift

Delightful Inspiration's newest image is the cutest bear...I say that every time
Faith illustrates a bear!
I literally had minutes to color and get this card done while the dog was eating her dinner!
Forgive me for posting and running...gotta meet up with the kids at the hospital!!

CASE @ WMS

Claire @ Waltzingmouse Stamps is challenging us to CASE a card from the Grand Calibur
three day party that finished up over there on Sunday, the 23rd.
This was a no brainer for me since Anya had a one layer clean and simple card that
looked easy and easy to CASE...Copy And Steal Everything!
She used Kraft paper....I did, too!
She used a Spellbinder....I did, too!
I just realized....she used....'love you'....too!
Her hearts were heart stamps!
My hearts were leaves (teardrop shapes stamped x 2)....made to look like hearts!
(Did you see her shadow box card, too? Amazing...right?)
Anya added glitter/sparkle to her hearts...I added bling!
DH's bday is one week before Vday...this will be the card.
Yes, it has a bow, but you know what...his gifts get bows, too!
AND I have never heard him complain about a bow on a gift.......
why should a bow on a card be any different?
I added knots to the bow strings....can we call that masculine?
Thanks for coming by!
This was a great challenge...
GREAT....EASY.....and a STEAL!!!!
I used Fired Brick distressed ink for all the stamping.
Punched two holes to string the ribbon and tie the bow.
The stamps were from Teeny Trees...the two different size leaves to make the two sizes of hearts....
Vintage Circles Small, Nestie friendly ....... the focal image.

Verve January Week three

Playing around in Picasa and liked the soft focus look for this Verve card.
And another shot with the 'pull out'.
This photo is pure unadulterated digital........
well, not totally, I did add two text copies.

This card does not open...just to be different!
In reality, I stamped the bg with the card closed on the right side...
The only thing I could do to retrieve the stamping was to cut the base in half, so I used the....
You get the picture...trim, trim and add a pull out!!!!
Man, o man, I would love to win another stamp set!
The few that I own are needing some Verve company!!
PS...I love the faded focus photo so much better!!! What say you?

Thanks for coming by!
Here's a view of the Verve sketch and I must tell you that one of the Verve Diva's used Starbuck's
wraps to make a mini album....so I cased the idea and used a Panera one that was laying on my counter.

Silly Valentine's

Wasn't Jules a dear to get this dinosaur with hearts out for Valentine's Day?
She even named it 'Carosaurus'  and she comes with another dino with spots and one
back in it's day with a volcano in the background! Now that would be for a real hot Valentine!!!
Check it out at the Daisy Doodles Store, and there are some freebie 'Love' sentiments like the one you see here:
Totally silly, stupid card that needs no explanation other than I was feeling silly when I printed this one out.
Enlarge one with hearts, not the other add sentiment directly underneath dinos for
Card Making Easy 101!!

Teeny Trees

This teeny tree was created for WMSC, the challenge #30  for Waltzingmouse Stamps.
they are giving away a stamp set to a random winner this week. It's all about sentiments and it's called
'Rescue Remedies'. I turned the sketch on it's side to accommodate the tree on the Spellbinders.
The papers were scraps laying on my counter top, even the white card stock!!!
Keeping it short tonight!
Thanks for coming by!

January Waltz

I don't think I need to explain the waltz to you!
It's old hat here! However, it's a new year, it's a new waltz, and it's a new card.
Two new cards!
The hearts were stamped and heat embossed with some sparkly goodness,
and the same with the heart shamrocks from WMS set
Celtic Heritage. This is my go to set when I need to work with a WMS stamp.
This set is so versatile, I have made many cards using it.
There are multiple words and phrases that you can mix and match amongst
many Celtic designs for almost every holiday.
I know it looks a wee bit off but I had to take the photo from a different angle to cut down on the
shimmer glimmer that was blinding!!! don't ask me why I decided at the last minute to shabby this card with all the distressing...something just came over me!!!!!
Golly gee was I looking for a piece of chocolate while making this card...and
didn't have any so made up for it with the chocolate ribbon and ink!!
Any one want to see the rest of the entries?
Head on over to the WMS forum, read the very first link (Lisa's) for details and
enjoy all the hearts and Valentine's Day love.
If you have never been there...then click HERE to sign up! It's quick and easy and so worth it!!!
While you are there you can play the game and take a chance at winning your very own WMS stamp set!

I almost forgot...a couple of close ups!
AND MY OTHER CARD! Keep scrolling......
AND another card!!!!
This card's idea just popped into my head and I had to give it a whirl!
I used the same heart from Celtic Heritage and the sentiment is from WMS Irish Blessings.
I used this sentiment last year for Valentine's Day!
I must stop here it's Sunday evening and the internet is giving me too many headaches...I'll try to come
back and finish this later or tomorrow.
It's Monday afternoon and I am back....has anyone else been having internet service problems?
The second card looks so much better IRL...you can click on the photo to enlarge it so you can read the sentiment.
I used my brand spanking new MS punch 'Rings' for the right border punch.
The shadows cast a pale blue hue behind the trim...trust me it's white!!!
I love my Krylon gold leaf marker/pen/painter for the edges of the top panel.
the embossing if a Sizzix small embossing folder that came is a set!
The gold floss is a must add as there was a booboo on the white cs!
thanks for coming by!
Enjoy the Waltzingmouse danceroo!!!!
There's tons of inspiration there..I have seen it!

Daisy Doodles Challenge #26

It's Daisy Doodles time!
It's Anything Goes in Daisy's world this challenge.
BUT REMEMBER: You must use a Daisy Doodles Image
I was so indecisive about the image to use...I colored two with my Prismacolor pencils, thank you Rhonda!
Rhonda introduced me to the pencils about one year ago and I have been using them often.
I still like the watercolor pencils, and I dab with the water color crayons on occasion!
As I type this I haven't made the card yet...so we are all in for a surprise when I come back to
post the card for this challenge...........WAIT!!!!!!
JUST WAIT
Ok, while you are waiting ...let me tell you that Jules, Miss Daisy Doodles has a freebie on her blog
for you to use to join the challenge this time!!!
do you remember the jeans hanging on the line last week?
that's the image up for grabs...FREEEEEEEE!!!!!
That's all for now...see ya soon!!!

Ok...changing it up...it's too early for an Easter card...you are gonna love Jules'  newest image
,,,,but later.
It's freezing cold here in Florida ( the last few days) and I have been feeling like I live in an igloo, so that's what it's
gonna be...one igloo coming up.....hope you like this image as much as I do!!!
I am typing this on Saturday, January 15th so the card is still not made and not
ready for viewing til Monday morning on the 17th.
HANG IN THERE!!!!!!!

TA DA
This little number is called "Catch of the Day" !

And although I had to cancel my plans for the Easter card...well, not cancel, just postpone,
I had a little time to put this card together for your enjoyment.
It's using Treat Time, just one of a few treats in the set.
This card has two folds, and just by accident, really. When I pulled this piece out of a package of card stock it was already scored in two places, so I went with it, the size and scores.
I attached the image with spellbinders to the top flap.
Here it is opened once:
That Fancy Tag  from Spellbinders hides perfectly behind the Label Ten on the front.
For the next opening:
I covered the back of the front flap's Label Ten with another after running it through the Textile ef,
and adding some Certainly Celery directly to the label.
This is to be a thank you note for a fabulous bday gift that I rec'd last week!

 Thanks for coming by!

Here are a few more shots that I had fun playing with in Picasa.

Luv Ya Cupcake by D2D

Luv Ya Cupcake is the free image at Delightful Inspiration this week.

I made the cupcake the card!!!!!
Here's the inside...I blurred the edges for a soft different look, and
added the sentiment in Picasa.
DH's bday is right before Vday, so I thought he might like this!
I folded my Kraft CS in half and then cut out the shape for the card base. Then cut out the cupcake
again, but one layer for the card top and then paper pieced the rest. Each and every layer
is popped up...wish you could see it IRL.  I used my finger kraft blade to cut the cupcake 'paper' to slide the ribbon through and tied a bow!
thanks for coming by!

Beary Beary

SFYTT over at Jen's blog is rethinking it's challenges this year.
Jen is changing up her 2011  SFYTT and making it "new and improved"!
One challenge per month with a great sponsor.
This first one is a fab sketch and the sponsor is TCP, The Cat's Pajama's.
I just happen to own two TCP stamp sets. They were both in the supercalifragilisticexpealidocious box of winnings last February from Jen. Hope TCP and Jen don't mind me using some
'old' stamps for this challenge.
Here's a shot of the sketch:

Head on over to Jen's SFYTT and give it a whirl yourself!
My bear was cut out and popped up a wee bit. I punched two holes in his right hand so he could hold the sparkler and hold the bday cake in his left. I took the two sentiments and curved them on an acrylic block. Another two holes in the pink heart to add a gingham bow...pink and chocolate with a little Early Express...what could be better?
Thanks for coming by!

Free for ALL

Daisy Doodles has a freebie!
Daisy Doodles has a freebie!
NA NA NA NEE NEE
Head right on over to the Challenge blog or Jules' blog
to get your very own and then you can enter one of the challenges.
the theme for this challenge is Past or Present so this image would fit perfectly.

The paper is SU retired scraps from yesterdays card,
a piece of Barely Banana and some Kraft cs for the base.
Don't you just love the clean fresh smell of laundry that has dried in the sun?
Don't be jealous ladies and gents but the sun was out today and the clothes
could have been hanging on the line if I had one... a line that is!
Deed restrictions prevented us from having a clothes line that was permanently
installed years ago when we moved in and never did put one up even when the restrictions were lifted!
Now the smell of laundry detergent and fabric softener fill my nose and clothes!!!
My sentiment was digitally inserted...love a good pun!!!!
Thanks for coming by!

PS It did get colder as the day progressed...if that makes you feel any better...
I'm talking to the snow birds here!!!!
This post was written on the 11th but posted on the 12th for clarity on the weather....lol!!!
BTB, the clothes on the line was what I was wearing when I colored the pic...blue jeans, gray T, and my favorite 'yellow' toe socks!!!! I thought it looked more guy like so I neglected ribbon and bling,
added 'grommets' instead!!!

A Thank EWE

This was the quickest easiest card ever!
However...I am on my way out to buy another "C" plate for my
Cuttlebug! While attempting to emboss my "EWE" I heard a huge crack and hoped that it wasn't what I
thought it was...no such luck!! That "C" plate cracked right in half right over the Spellbinders circle, the embossing mat, and the
Delightful Inspiration EWE! Now, what to do, I still had to cut the label....I used
half of the "C" plate to finish my die cutting and then to the card!!!
(Yes, I know the "B" plates are supposed to be used for the embossing!)
Listen and learn!!!!
The stamped oval and sentiment is from Stamping Scrapping...a gift from my DDL.
They carry so many goodies for the crafter in us all.
Thanks for coming by!
Hope you all are staying warm and crafting!

In order to follow the challenge at D2D's Card Ideas, something old and something new..... I used obviously, a brand new stamp that DDL gave me, a brand new die..the label/tag...a brand new image..."EWE", and the DSP is retired from SU.

Special people

I have a very special person in my life, she is like a sister to me and it's her birthday this month.
One of the girls is having a small get together Sunday evening for my special person, Becky. She is my brother's wife, but more like a sister than a SIL.
I used the Verve challenge for the first week in January to make this card for Becky
AND a matching envelope!
A close up to show you all the sparkle ...
And the envelope using a sheet of CTMH that matches one of the papers on the front of the card.
One more...the inside that will hold a Target gift card!!!

Thanks for coming by!
Be safe and keep warm and dry!!!

i just love them...the set is called 'Take Away'...that must be
the English term for our take out!!!!
