It's been days

It has been days since I have been here.
So much going on and nothing worth talking about right now!
I made a few cards last week and saved this for an opportune time...
which is now!
This is an image from Daisy Doodles. It comes in a set, a window with a plain cross, one with the word peace in the cross, and a cross all by itself.
I love stained glass and when I saw this set I knew I would be making a card with it...make that three!
You can find this set at the Daisy Doodles Store. It's called 'Peace" and it's under sympathy.
Thanks for coming by!

The Sketch

I have a few minutes to spare to get this card as an entry at The Pixie Cottage.
I showed you the sketch on an earlier post and now here is the card that I promised.

I would like you to meet Rebecca, she is one of this Fall's creations by Daisy Doodles, Jules!
She can be bought!!!!!
Check out the Daisy Doodles store and see all the fabulous images
there are to choose from there.
Gotta keep this short the clock is ticking! This card has been on my mind for the last two days and it was at 9:20pm tonight that I realized it wasn't going to get done unless I got into gear!
The DSP is from a big stack of paper from SU that has been retired and the rest are scraps with the exception of the Kraft card base. Punched out some MS flowers and added some liquid pearls!
Thought the trees would be good background since the pilgrims ate outside amongst the trees!!!
Thank you, Pixie Cottage for the fab sketch and Jules for the image you have created.
Pixie Cottage is sponsoring the Daisy Doodles challenge, Anything Goes, this week.
You must use a Daisy Doodles image or an image chosen from Pixie Cottage to be eligible to win the prize.
Thank you all for coming by!

Skating Penguin

This is one of the easiest cards ever!
I already had a piece of chip board with a big circle cut out of it to use with the embossing folder - Snowflake!
The hole leaves the circle plain..no embossing!
Acts like a frame for the image.
Yes, there was some fussy cutting of that adorable penguin to pop her up!
I stamped her and colored her twice!
A little bit of sponging on the snowflakes and a bit around the edges!
The skating Penguin was free from Delightful Inspiration!
Double Delight's challenge was to use snowflakes, one or many!

Christmas Greetings

Just another WMS sketch challenge!
I love my stamp sets from WMS.
here I used the Celtic Heritage set and used the half circle image to create an ornament.
Then used the open half circle to create white ornaments for my bg paper.
Get on over to the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge now. It closes tonight at 11:59 pm!
Here's the sketch for you to see.
Thanks for coming by!

On the Ninth Day

Daisy Doodles created candles on the ninth day!

I used Word to get all the candles on the Natural ivory paper that you see in the background.
Used the reflections tool to add some interest. the small holly leaves are from a Christmas set called DD's Selection Box x 12. there are actually 12 Christmas themed images in the one set. this set below has been available for a month of two. Check out the store to see the other 6 images.

Winter Wishes

Delightful Inspiration's new image is a little angel.
she is the cutest thing ever!
had to mix up the colors in her wardrobe, like my GD, Emma, she is all about mixing and matching, well, forget the matching with her...just mixing it up. and her mixing always looks quite Bohemian.
CUTE for a seven year old.
On with the card---
Used my brand new stars embossing folder for the very first time on both the Cherry Cobbler
and Lovely Lilac.
This sweet little angel's name is Kaela and she was the second weeks image at D2D.
You can get Faith's images for free if you start with the freebie at the beginning of each month.
Double Delight challenges us to use faith's images and then adds something special to mix it up.
this week the girls at Double Delight want to see some sparkle.
There is  sparkle.....Stickles....pink on the pink collar and cuffs,
yellow on the stars and halo, diamond on the wings.
Sparklie gold ribbon knotted on the Cherry Cobbler seam binding.
Thanks for coming by!
Did I mention that Sweet Scallop Tag from Verve?
I love that new die. It comes with a template so you can line up the die to the image perfectly.

Waltz right into Christmas with WMS

Not one, but two cards for this Waltzingmouse waltz.
The first one, I had this great idea to make light bulbs with the small teardrop from Teeny Trees.
I stamped the bulbs then used a piece of foam and rubber to make the base
then gold embossed them. I think they came out better than expected but
my string of lights were harder than I imagined.
Tell me what you think!
The stars on the tree are gold embossed and look bright, oh so bright IRL.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Card number two...is as clean and simple as I could possibly get.
Again, the tree decorations are gold embossed.
Thanks for coming by!
I can't wait to see what every one else created.
 FYI...here's a pic of the tiny square of foam and rubber that I cut out to make the light bulb bases.
I showed you one earlier and this card has the Sweet Scallop Tag die!
The sketch is from Verve's challenge at SCS, Nov Week two.
I think their dies are fantastic and the stamps to match are awesome.
You stamp your image, use the template to mark the dots and run it through your die-cutting machine.
Thanks for coming by!
Snow Globe
Daisy Doodles has been truly working overtime in the creative field.
I colored ten of her images and here's one that I managed to get onto a card.
I managed to color all the berries but the holly leaves were a NO GO!
No matter what medium I used they just didn't look right on camera.
so plain and simple it is!!!!
In place of the 'snow' I used a glitter pen, silver, to highlight some of the areas.
this image is part of a two  pc set called Snow Place Like Home and
you can find it in the Daisy Doodles store.
Do you have any raffle tickets, yet?
See the post at the top of this blog til November 22, 2010.
Verve and a New Die
I am in LOVE!
 There's a new die in town!!!
 Verve, A Cut Above has made two dies, a Vintage Oval  die and a Sweet Scallop Tag die.
Two shapes with more to come, I hope!
I stamped a Verve senti on top of my new die cut with Cherry Cobbler using the Vintage Oval stamp.
With the exception of the Cherry Cobbler paper from SU all the other pieces were scraps! The Leafy Branch  embossed spellbinders die was in the drawer of scraps just begging to be used.
This link will show you week one and then you can go see week two
and maybe amber has up the third week by now.
Thanks for coming by!
Stay tuned to see the other die from Verve....the Sweet Scallop tag.
Two and Two
Remember the purple and gold tag that I made for WMS?
Well, here it is again!
Cheli needed a 50th Anniversary card for her Aunt and Uncle. Cheli LOVES purple and GOLD is the gift of choice for a 50th. I gave her the tag that I made for WMS and she got her papers out and a sheet of DP from me and this card was born!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cheli came to visit today and we had a crafting great time.
Chit chat and brown bagging it were the highlights of our day.
Cheli made a gift for her boss lady...and I helped with the Nesties and New Cut Above from Verve.
Sadly, I did not get pictures of those creations, but I can tell you that her boss lady will love all those elements.

Thanks for coming by!

Tomorrow I will have a card here that shows one of the new Verve dies!

On The Second Day

On the second day of Christmas
Daisy Doodles created a dove.
And I created a card and a computer generated sentiment.
For the twelve days of Christmas Daisy Doodles created a raffle.
Each day there will be a winner and the winner will receive this set.

This card is made with one of the stamps from the 12 Days of Christmas set.

and don't forget
When you purchase something from the store (until Nov 22nd), you will be sent a ticket number. You will get a number per item bought (for sets bought you get 2 tickets), not per order.

Harvest Basket

Here's the card for Delightful Inspiration
the progressive challenge where you can continue to get free images
each week as you play along.
Double Delight asked us to keep it clean and simple.
A brand new scrap book store opened this week in my 'burb'.
Lily and I headed out today to run some errands and she wanted to go to the scrap book store.
She had to go potty, rearrange the inventory, and play hopscotch on the checkerboard floors, all the while singing and humming her favorite song...'Scooby Dooby Doo Where Are You?'
She hums that song even while she is eating her lunch!
I have never known a child her age that can hum a perfect tune.She can even sing it in Japanese!!!
She sings it in some language that she has made up and when I ask her she says, "It's Japanese, Mims!"
I laugh so hard on the inside that it hurts...she doesn't even know what Japanese is...dear child!
It is now embedded in my brain....HELP!!!!
teka teka tay, kay kay roo?.....we've got some work to do now!
That first part is her Japanese. Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you?
She wanted some pom-pom ribbon and at 40 cents a foot she got a foot. I figure 40 cents
got me outta there pretty cheap. Well, for her anyway! they had some lovely ribbon and a bought five different ones. They will only sell increments of one foot.
I think you can get a regular ole bow on one card with eighteen inches. I must remember to buy a yard next time...then I will get two with no waste.
Thanks for coming by!

I added this card to the For Fun challenge- Dry embossing 11/17

Friendship and LOVE

I raised up the brown with blue polka dots with dimensionals. You can see the bluish shadows that the lamp cast on the circles. those Teeny Tree stamps are almost perfectly stamped in the middle but I stood too tall when I took the photo and they look lopsided. I tried to scrunch down but at my age that is harder than I realized! It was a cool sketch that was furnished this week, so I thank the Mischief Makers.

Land Sea Air

It's the week for a challenge at Daisy Doodles!
Jules created some Doodles Bugs and then a train, and a plane.
that lead to a transportation themed challenge for the next two weeks.
I dare to be different and decided to use Daisy Doodles Sleigh...it's transportation right?
The sleigh and the bells...can you see them under the ribbon's knot?...come in a set and are available now at the store. Link is up above. I cut out the bells and attached a tiny jingle bell and hung it on the ribbon with some floral wire.
Thanks for coming by!

    A Christmas Tag, too!

    I made another tag for WMS on Thursday while Lily was here. she wanted to be in the picture so she held the tag while I pointed and shot!
    And here's Lily...and where's her smile? She was taking the responsibility so seriously of having to hold that tag, the smile just wouldn't come forth!!!!!
    Picture with just the tag was taken with the flash! the photo of Lily was taken with the red eye turned off.
    Notice the difference???? DUH---yea!!!!!
    Lily and I thank you for coming by!
    She just loves to see her pic on my computer.
    Oh yes, she says her shirt is PURPLE!!!!

    RX
    Waltzingmouse stamps with Spellbinders circle dies and scalloped circle dies, Orchid Opulence ink and paper with some Crushed Curry, More Mustard and lavender ribbons with a pearlie strand.

    I forgot to mention that Claire at Waltzingmouse Stamps has a huge prize for the bestest Christmas tag!
    She is giving 100 pounds, British Sterling, I think they call it, to the winner. If you use her stamps another 25 pounds to that winner! So go make a tag...LOL!!!!!
    WMS makes clear poly-whatever stamps that are so amazing.
    I just love her stamps, and she sells Spellbinders by the seashore, too!!!!
    And digital papers, and....well go check it out for yourself!!!!

    Glimmer Misted

    Just a few more cards left to post for the HYCCT challenge.
    Four to be exact. they are all uploaded to SCS,.
    I just need to post the last ones here.
    this card called for some sort of spray on color, Glimmermist or some  home made spray with a shimmer.
    I stamped the sentiment then covered with a mask and sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmermist.
    I sprayed the butterflies, too with a home made concoction using Perfect Pearls and alcohol, and alcohol with Platinum, a paint from Stampin Up.
    This is a sketch that I also saw at Mojo Monday #163. I turned it on it's side and added the butterflies.
    Thanks for coming by!

    Seeds of Friendship

    This is a simple card with plenty of sewing as the Sew Thankful HYCCT23 challenge.
    I sewed the three ribbons together and then onto the DSP, and sewed the DSP to the Barely Banana. the circles are sewn separately and then glued to the card front. the card base id Brilliant Blue and that stamp is from SU, "The World Over".
    I just couldn't bring myself to have the image set there straight on
    so I dialed it a wee bit counter clockwise and I like it.
    Thanks for coming by!

    Get Well Soon

    Cancer is for the birds!
    And the name of the challenge for HYCCT26.
    The sentiment is brown and green so it looks a little hazy in the pic, but pretty good IRL!
    I stamped it in Old Olive and then used a brown marker and ran it over the green
    to mimic the branch's coloring.
    Thanks for coming by!

    Families are like FUDGE

    This card has already been put up over at SCS, but here it is for you!
    this one is for the Sentiment only challenge at HYCCT29 at SCS.

    My box is packed and ready to be mailed on Monday to go to the
    MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.
    this sentiment is from Raindrop Echo.
    It was a freebie a while back and I found it fitting for a card going to the MDACC.
